Not with a sailboat but with a very comfortable former Dutch tugboat;
Not crossing the ocean but over Dutch and German canals and rivers.
You can not practice putting the sails but you can learn how to pass large locks and how to move the boat between the big barges on the river Rhine, the busiest waterway in Europe.
And no view of the endless wide horizon, but the view of the countryside at the riverbanks and give a wave to the joggers on the towpath.
And in the afternoon not stay in a crowded marina but dock the ship in a small town and explore by foot or by bicycle the area.
With my motorboat ALK a former tugboat, built in 1956 at Rotterdam I am sailing this summer over rivers and canals from the Netherlands to the German capital Berlin.
On this sailing trip I still have places for guests who want to accompany me.
